Currently in the User Management area, you can invite users to your account and control the feature access that they have in the platform.
User Management is currently built mainly for internal team members/employees of a company to collaborate internally on projects.
But ideally, external people like Contractors could be invited to their account, so Contractors could collaborate and do certain things like uploading project updates and photos.
Today's Workaround
If a Company wants to add a Contractor to their platform, they have to create them as a "User" which counts against their User count quota.
Solution
Instead of inviting Contractors as a typical user, create a dedicated Contractor role in the User Management area that includes "Contractor" features like Project Updates & Photo Log so contractors can post updates to their projects without counting against the User limit and having access to features they don't need.
